Job Description

ASSYST is seeking an experienced Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to lead the design, deployment, and management of a multi-cloud environment (Azure and AWS) supporting our client's Enterprise Data and Analytics Platform (EDAP) in Tallahassee, Florida. 

The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between infrastructure, security, and data operations, ensuring a secure, scalable, and automated foundation for mission-critical data workloads.

Responsibilities:
  • Multi-Cloud Architecture Design: Design, install, configure, and document all server and cloud platform requirements in a multi-cloud environment (Azure and Amazon Web Services AWS) to support the Enterprise Data and Analytics Platform (EDAP).
  • Infrastructure Monitoring & Maintenance: Perform daily monitoring, health checks, and troubleshooting for cloud and on-premises infrastructure components to ensure maximum system availability and performance.
  • Automation & DevOps: Design and maintain Terraform-based automation and CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure deployment, configuration management, and compliance validation.
  • Network Engineering: Design, secure, and maintain network connectivity, including virtual networks, VPNs, firewalls, and ExpressRoute/Direct Connect links supporting the EDAP cloud infrastructure.
  • Data Platform Integration: Integrate and support data tools and platforms (Informatica, Databricks, Snowflake, Dataiku, etc.), ensuring proper configuration, interoperability, and access control across Azure and AWS environments.
  • Governance & Cost Management: Monitor and optimize cloud performance, storage, and costs; implement tagging, reporting, and chargeback models for effective multi-cloud governance.
  • Security & Compliance: Implement security baselines including encryption, identity protection, key management, and Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) to maintain compliance with Department policies and applicable regulations.
  • Modernization & Migration: Collaborate with data, analytics, and development teams to migrate workloads, modernize infrastructure, and establish secure integrations between cloud and on-premises systems.
Requirements:

Bachelors degree in Information Technology or relevant.

A minimum of Five (5) years of experience in the following:
  • In designing, implementing, and administering enterprise-scale cloud environments in Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS), including system architecture, security configuration, and environment maintenance.
  • Work experience as an enterprise administrator in an on-premises Windows Server Domain infrastructure.
  • Managing Azure Entra ID (Active Directory) and AWS IAM, including policy design, Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), and secure federation between environments.
  • Designing and maintaining multi-cloud environments, including the integration of cloud-native tools and services to support data and analytics workloads.
  • Architecting, implementing, and maintaining Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and Software as a Service (SaaS) models within Azure and AWS.
  • Designing and managing cloud networking, including virtual networks, subnets, Virtual Private Networks (VPN), ExpressRoute, and Direct Connect.
  • Implementing and administering DevOps and Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery/Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines for infrastructure deployment and automation.
  • Supporting cloud-based data tools such as Snowflake, Databricks, Informatica, and Dataiku, including environment setup, security configuration, and integration.
  • Developing and managing cloud tagging, cost optimization, and chargeback models across multiple environments.
  • Implementing identity, access, and policy management across hybrid and multi-cloud environments.
  • Implementing Terraform or equivalent Infrastructure as Code (IaC) frameworks for automated, secure, and scalable infrastructure deployment.
A minimum of Two (2) Years of experience in:
Developing and maintaining disaster recovery, high availability, and security compliance configurations in alignment with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), and Florida Administrative Code 60GG.
