Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated Scientist to join our Protein Development group within the Therapeutic Proteins department. You will support purification & biochemical characterization of protein reagents.
As a Scientist, a typical day might include: - Conducting protein purification using an ÄKTA AVANT or Pure chromatography system
- Carrying out LAL (limulus amebocyte lysate) testing for bacterial lipopolysaccharide endotoxin
- Doing protein characterization of reagents by Western blotting, SDS PAGE electrophoresis, SEC chromatography, spectrophotometry, etc.
- Conjugating protein reagents to biotin, fluorophores (e.g. Alexa & PE), & other tags
- Performing antibody purification working in a team for small scale production in a fast pace setting
- Conducting protein expression in E. coli, refolding of inclusion bodies, and developing methods of protein purification
- Interpreting data & documenting findings in electronic notebook (ELN)

In order to be considered for this role , you must have at least a BS/MS in Molecular Biology, Cellular Biology, Biochemistry or related field with 6+ years of relevant experience in protein purification/characterization. E.coli expression and purification are required. We need someone with a solid understanding of protein biochemistry. Must have hands on experience with Affinity, Ion Exchange, Reverse Phase, & Size Exclusion chromatography. Experience with automated liquid handlers is advantageous. Experience with Spectrophotometry, SDS-PAGE electrophoresis & Western blotting is required. Additionally, experience with the solubilization, handling, & characterization of peptides is a plus.

Salary Range (annually)$92,500.00 - $151,100.00
