About the Role
Under the guidance of the Supervisor of Finance Analytics - Commercial Finance, the Financial Analyst II will perform a variety of specialized duties, including reconciling premium invoicing and payments, monitoring vendor performance, resolving payment issues, and conducting ad-hoc analysis related to commercial products. This position involves working with large data sets and developing SQL queries to ensure accurate financial reporting and premium billing processes.

Key Responsibilities
- Respond to internal and external inquiries related to premium invoicing.
- Analyze over- or under-premium payments and provide insights for leadership review.
- Investigate and resolve member premium discrepancies, offering recommendations for resolution.
- Develop and execute SQL queries for revenue reconciliation, ensuring member account accuracy.
- Resolve payment disputes from merchant service vendors and bank lockbox transactions.
- Coordinate with print vendors to update premium billing notifications and member notices in compliance with regulatory guidelines.
- Work with external vendors to address programming modifications and other business needs.
- Analyze refund requests and overpayments, ensuring accurate processing of member refunds.
- Verify internal and external broker commission payments for accuracy.
- Prepare monthly financial and management reports, including journal entries.
- Interpret regulatory requirements related to premium billing, member notices, and revenue reconciliation.
- Serve as a trusted resource within the organization, fostering strong internal relationships.
- Incorporate LEAN principles into daily operations for continuous process improvement.
- Perform other duties as needed to support financial operations.

Qualifications & Experience
- At least three (3) years of experience in premium billing, membership reconciliation, or premium reporting.
- Experience collaborating with finance teams on monthly financial reporting.
- Strong proficiency in working with large data sets and developing SQL queries.
- Background in managed care and commercial products preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Health Care Administration, Accounting, or a related field from an accredited institution.

- Understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and general accounting theory.
- Proficiency in SQL Server query development and writing.
