The Director of Sports Operations reports directly to the SIAC Commissioner and will serve as the coordinator for all regular season and post season competitions for the SIAC office. The Director of Sports Operations will be responsible for tracking all competition results, competition changes, and managing the implementation of competition related policies.

Position Type: In-Person Position (Atlanta, GA); Overnight travel as needed

Responsibilities

  • The Director of Sports Operations will oversee results for all regular and postseason competitions
  • Manage game change requests for all regular season competitions
  • Manage the implementation of conference policies in all competitions
  • Track and report violations to SIAC policies by member institutions
  • Coordinates special requests made by campus administrators and coaches
  • Coordinate gameday operations for all SIAC championships
  • Manage conference championship and special events inventory
  • Completes other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution is required
  • 4-6 years of collegiate gameday operations experience
  • Preferred experience working with SIDEARM as a collegiate sports information director
  • Experience serving as primary leader coordinating plans large groups/departments
  • Strong ability to problem-solve with the ability to work effectively, efficiently, independently and as a team leader in a deadline-driven, dynamic office environment
  • Willingness to work extended hours beyond the typical business day, including nights and weekends throughout the year as needed as it relates to conference games, championships, and special events
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills as well as a strong attention to detail
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and work in outdoor environments as needed
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize accordingly
  • Demonstrated experience with, and understanding of, the broad diversity of the University community (students, faculty, staff and others)
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the SIAC community
