Position Summary
We are seeking skilled and motivated Data Center Installation Technicians to support large-scale new construction projects. This role involves installing cable pathways, pulling and routing copper and fiber cabling, and supporting both inside plant (ISP) and outside plant (OSP) infrastructure builds. The ideal candidate will have experience working in active construction environments and a strong understanding of structured cabling standards and safety practices.
Install, route, and secure fiber optic and copper cabling throughout data center environments.
Build and install overhead cable tray, ladder rack, basket tray, and conduit systems .
Pull, label, and dress cable neatly according to TIA/EIA and project standards.
Support OSP work , including running conduit and pulling fiber between buildings or to demarcation points.
Perform terminations (copper or fiber) and assist with testing as needed.
Read and interpret prints, riser diagrams, and pathway layouts .
Work closely with project leads and other trades to coordinate routing and ensure compliance with construction schedules.
Follow all site-specific safety and security protocols .
Maintain organized materials and ensure work areas are clean and safe.
1 3 years of experience in structured cabling, telecommunications, or data center installation preferred.
Knowledge of ISP and OSP cable installation practices .
Familiarity with fiber and copper cable types (Cat6, OM3/OM4, OS2, etc.) and associated components.
Ability to safely use hand and power tools (lifts, drills, fish tape, pullers, etc.).
Ability to lift 50 lbs and work on ladders, lifts, or overhead pathways.
OSHA 10 or 30 certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).
Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work in an active construction environment.
Ability to read blueprints and follow verbal/written instructions.
Experience working in hyperscale or enterprise data centers .
Basic understanding of testing and labeling requirements for copper and fiber systems.
Familiarity with grounding and bonding standards (TIA-607).
Experience working with or around other trades (electrical, mechanical, etc.).
