Job Description

Spur is looking for upscale, dependable and hardworking Culinary Line Cooks / Prep Cook for the sophisticated Rhythm on Monroe restaurant in downtown Huntsville. Connected to the Von Braun Center, Rhythm on Monroe is a sophisticated restaurant serving patrons not only amazing food but a fun and hype experience. The ideal candidate will value the experience of patrons and work well under stress at a fast pace. The ideal candidate will also have upscale service experience.

This is a from-scratch kitchen that requires a high energy team-oriented individual.

Restaurant is open 7 days a week for dinner. Restaurant opens for some lunch events.

The duties and requirements for this position are:

• Providing excellent customer service.
• Prepare food to the exact chef’s specifications.
• Set-up stations for the menu.
• Assisting the executive and sous chef with their daily task.
• Using a variety of techniques of cooking and equipment not limited to cold prep, slicing, baking, frying, and sauté while following specified recipes.
• High level of energy and focus throughout the entire shift.
• The answer, report, and follow the executive or sous chef’s instructions
• Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
• Prepping all the recipes, chopping vegetables, making sauces/dressings, and ensuring that the team has the food needed to deliver picture-perfect food to our guests
• You must adhere to all safety/sanitation requirements and have good personal hygiene.
• Complete various cleaning duties to ensure guests have a great first impression.
• Must have strong communication skills, great attention to detail, and electronic and computer proficiency.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 30 lbs.
• Rhythm on Monroe expects employees to work their schedule as it is assigned to them weekly. All call-outs must be approved by the Manager on Duty before the scheduled shift and must be accompanied by a doctor's excuse.

Qualifications:

• Must pass a background check.
• Minimum of 1 year of serving experience in a full-service restaurant. (upscale pref.)
• High School Diploma/GED.
• Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures.
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
• Available to work day/night shifts and weekends/holidays.

Pay:

• $15.00 p/hr and up based on experience
