Description Emily Krous at Robert Half is working with a client to find a Controller. You will be responsible for managing all financial aspects of the business, including finance, budgeting, cash flow, and accounting. You will also be responsible for human resources operations, establishing financial controls and accounting procedures, and providing strategic financial guidance. CPA required. This role is fully remote, but you must be within one hour of Sacramento, Ca. Responsibilities - Oversee the management of all financial and human resources operations - Establish and maintain strong financial controls and accounting procedures - Prepare and implement organizational budgets - Regularly provide financial performance updates to the Board of Directors - Ensure compliance with federal and state financial regulations - Prepare and present financial reports to the executive leadership and the Board on a quarterly and annual basis - Coordinate and provide support for external audit processes - Oversee the timely filing of necessary tax documents - Offer strategic financial guidance on property acquisitions, conservation initiatives, grants, and other business opportunities - Supervise finance and HR staff, ensuring efficient and effective daily operations Requirements - The candidate should have robust Controllership skills, demonstrating the ability to oversee and manage all aspects of financial management within the organization. - Knowledge and experience in managing Government Grants is required, showcasing an understanding of the application, management, and compliance procedures. - Experience with Endowment Funds is essential, with the ability to effectively manage and grow these funds in accordance with the organization's goals and objectives. - Excellent communication skills are needed to effectively relay financial information to non-finance colleagues and stakeholders. - A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field is necessary. - CPA certification or equivalent is desirable.
