Summary

Collaborate in the design of Warehouse Solutions equipment related projects and producing computer aided design (CAD) drawings required to support sales effort of the branch in a professional and timely manner consistent with the image of the Company. Travel to customer sites to collaborate with the sales force and customer in determining information required for the layouts is collected in the proper form and detail. Manage, coordinate, and oversee installations of Warehouse Solutions products. Review all computer simulations run for the customer bases which may be needed to support truck sales.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with sales personnel in the design of projects involving Warehouse Solutions products. Assist in determining and verifying the building measurements and other related information required for proper design of Warehouse Solutions projects. Tasks include the designing, drawing and detail verification of the specific application of Company equipment utilized in the customer’s application. Utilizing information provided, create alternative designs to enhance space utilization, increase product flow, improve efficiency, reduce cost, etc. Be aware of the specifications of the trucks, racking/shelving, etc. that are presented to the customer in the drawings. Gather and prepare all documents required for permit processing. Collaborate with sales representatives and customers regarding required changes to existing drawings. Create and maintain a library of completed drawings as well as a detailed record of past Warehouse Solutions projects.

• Meet with salespeople and customers at the customer's location in the normal course of the selling effort. Visit sites before, during and after equipment installation to respond to installation problems, answer questions and ensure proper installation. Special sensitivity to maintaining good customer relations. Work closely with Warehouse Solutions Coordinator regarding the scheduling and progress of material delivery. Assist in the coordination of equipment required for installation (i.e., lift trucks, work platforms, welders, etc.).

• Create the required simulations for the sales effort.

• Maintain current knowledge of new company equipment and their respective specifications and operating parameters. Investigate additional sources of installers, building materials, union labor rates, Dodge Reports, etc. to maintain the competitive position of the company. Maintain knowledge of upgrades to Auto Cad as they become available.
• Maintain current literature supplies, keep current Warehouse Solutions vendor addresses and contact names, assist in mailings for Warehouse Solutions products. Perform various duties as assigned by branch management to support the sales effort, including coordinator functions.

Minimum Qualifications

• 5-7 years of related experience
• Associate degree (Computer Aided Design)

Non-degree considered if 6+ years of related experience along with a high school diploma or GED

• Frequent travel (6-20%)
• Overnight stays unlikely
• Job requires employee to drive a personal vehicle to conduct company business < 20% per week (8 hours) and/or travel locally between company locations during scheduled workday

Preferred Qualifications

• Technical drawing in a business environment.
