A healthcare organizations in Covina is looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Authorizations Coordinator to join its team. In this role the Authorizations Coordinator will play a crucial role in ensuring patients receive timely access to healthcare services by managing insurance authorizations and eligibility processes. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a non-profit organization while working in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Communicate with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance representatives to gather and verify coverage details.
- Manage insurance authorization requests, ensuring all necessary documentation is accurate and complete.
- Follow up on pending approvals to resolve delays and maintain timely processing.
- Identify and address discrepancies in insurance coverage or benefits by liaising with insurance providers.
- Maintain accurate records of insurance verifications and authorization statuses in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Assist with pre-authorization requirements to expedite patient access to necessary services.
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries professionally and efficiently.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless coordination of patient care.
- Stay updated on insurance policies, regulations, and medical billing practices to support compliance.
- Monitor and improve processes related to insurance follow-ups and claim administration.
Requirements - High school diploma or equivalent required; a college degree is a plus.
- Experience in insurance verification, authorizations, or healthcare administrative roles is preferred.
- Strong understanding of insurance plans, medical billing processes, and benefit functions.
- Proficiency in using healthcare software platforms, including Allscripts, athenahealth, Epic, and Cerner.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in maintaining records and data entry.
- Familiarity with collection processes, appeals, and claim administration is advantageous. TalentMatch®
